Abramowski had built a 23-point advantage over Tristan Charpentier following his category victory on Rally di Roma Capitale last month.
But with Charpentier electing not to contest this week’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín, Abramowski can’t be caught in the battle to win the prestigious title and Ford Fiesta Rally2 prize drive, despite 2025 being his first season competing at international level.
“We’ve made some proper hours to prepare for the races so we expected something like this but not so early, so I am really happy,” said the 19-year-old from Poland.
“The experience [of driving a Rally2 car] will be crucial, the first rally will not be easy but getting the experience and some knowledge will be crucial and I’m really happy with that.”
Abramowski, who is co-driven by countryman Jakub Wróbel, will partner Jon Armstrong and Shane Byrne in the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team line-up when he makes his Rally2 debut. He’s determined to maximise the opportunity.
“The most important will be we have the same car for the race so we can compare with him,” Abramowski said. “I will look for the time, I will have a lot to improve because it’s my first rally in Rally2, so for sure there is room to grow but this is for the future.”
Of the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy, a joint initiative from WRC Promoter GmbH and M-Sport Poland, Abramowski said: “It was very equal and the prize helps a lot with the budget from rally to rally. The Fiesta Rally3 is very comfortable, I have done a lot of rallies and kilometres with the car, I really like the style of it, you have plenty of set-up changes you can do and really set up this car for the driving style. You can really improve your skills.”
A decision on whether Abramowski takes up his Ford Fiesta Rally2 prize drive on JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion on Croatia Rally will be taken following Barum Czech Rally Zlín.
ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy prize package as big hit
For the second year running, tyre company Pirelli has provided a 15 per cent discount on event tyre packages to all participants across the five-event ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy season.
The winner of each ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy event receives 12 new tyres for use on the next event, the runner-up receives six new tyres with two new tyres going to the third-place finisher.
M-Sport Poland, which oversees the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy in partnership with ERC promoter WRC Promoter GmbH, entered into a partnership agreement with Warter Fuels for 2025. As well as benefiting from the performance of the Warter RALLY EVO2 fuel, which has been developed in tandem with M-Sport Poland as an industry-leading Rally3 fuel, ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy competitors can take advantage of two notable incentives.
