Featuring the 281 hp Mokka GSE Rally as its new base car, the all-electric ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup has been used by former champions Laurent Pellier, Timo Schulz, Calle Carlberg and Luca Pröglhöf as a stepping stone to Junior ERC. Tom Heindrichs, the 2025 title winner, will follow in their wheel tracks when he steps up to the Hankook-equipped category in 2026.
The 2026 ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup visits six countries with Rallye Sanremo in Italy – once a round of the FIA European Rally Championship – added to the roster of events for 2026 as the penultimate round of the season from 17 - 18 October.
Kicking off with the ELE Rally in The Netherlands (29 - 30 May), Rallye Vosges - Grand Est in France is next up from 13 - 14 June followed by Rallye Weiz in Austria from 17 - 18 July. ADAC Saarland-Pfalz Rallye hosts round four of the season in Germany from 14 - 15 August. The series stays in Germany for ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg (25 - 26 September) prior to Rallye Sanremo and the season-closing Spa Rally in Belgium from 28 - 29 November.
An Opel Motorsport communication read: “The ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup shines again in 2026 with a strong overall package. Participants can look forward to an attractive schedule with seven events in six countries. With the 281 hp Mokka GSE Rally as the new competition vehicle, Opel is opening a new chapter in electric rallying, while an innovative, further developed charging infrastructure enables even more kilometres at racing speed.
“The comprehensive services for participants remain unchanged. The registration fee includes entry fees and electricity costs for all seven rallies, a team tent with groundsheet per rally vehicle, racing overalls and team wear for drivers and co-drivers, as well as year-round access with catering to the Cup hospitality area for four people.
“In addition to the attractive calendar and comprehensive service package, the world's only electric rally one-make cup offers a generous prize fund of €100,000. The junior classification is reserved for drivers born in 2000 or later, while all older drivers compete for an attractive special prize in the new GSE Pro classification.”
Ioan Lloyd, Junior ERC runner-up in 2025, will contest the ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup driving for Vauxhall Motorsport and is targeting winning the main prize of a Junior ERC campaign in 2027 driving a Corsa Rally4.
Registration for the 2026 ADAC Opel GSE Rally Cup closes on 31 March with more information available at adac.de/motorsport.
