Andrei Girtofan is all set for his FIA European Rally Championship debut – 13 years after his father Dan last competed in the all-action series.

Girtofan, 29, has set his sights on his five-event ERC campaign, starting with 43rd Andalusia Rally - Sierra Morena - Córdoba World Heritage Site from 17 - 19 April.
The double Romanian Tarmac champion and runner-up in the 2024 national championship to ERC event winner Simone Tempestini will compete in a Hankook-equipped Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.

He said: “I will be participating in multiple rounds, starting with the first event in Spain, followed by rallies in Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic and Portugal. I am very excited to be part of this championship and to represent myself at this level.
“I chose the ERC because it has always been a dream of mine to compete at this level. The championship offers incredible rallies across Europe, and it’s the perfect opportunity for me to develop, learn and prove myself against some of the best drivers.”

While ‘Andy’ Girtofan, 29, is new to the ERC, his co-driver, Dorin Pulpea, needs no introduction having made 13 starts in the championship, including alongside Dan Girtofan on the ERC-counting Raliul României Atlanta House in 2003.
