Creigton, 28, is gearing up to tackle the seven-round ERC schedule with leading team Tagai Racing Technology for what will be his 13th season competing alongside co-driver Liam Regan.
The Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy-backed Creighton will get his maiden ERC1 campaign under way behind the wheel of a Michelin-equipped Citroën C3 Rally2 before he switches to a Lancia Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale later in the season.
Excitement builds
“I am really excited to step up to the European Rally Championship in 2026 with TRT and Stellantis,” Creighton said. “Hopefully, we can build on a positive year in the British Rally Championship last season, where we had several strong rallies and were proud to add our name to its prestigious list of champions.”
Next step awaits
“To take that next step and put together a bigger programme of European events is incredibly exciting,” said Creighton. “I am delighted to continue representing the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy and to carry that relationship forward at this level. A huge thanks must go to Stellantis Motorsport, Michelin, the Academy and all my sponsors for giving us this opportunity. It is fantastic to align ourselves with brands that have a wealth of experience and success in rallying. To be trusted with the responsibility of representing them at this level feels very special.”

New rallies no problem
Creighton has experience of three events featuring on the 2026 ERC roster having previously contested BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia, Rally di Roma Capitale and JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigion. However, with the Italian round following a new route this season, the British champion will have plenty to learn during the year ahead, a challenge he’s relishing.
“We will face new rallies this season and very strong competition,” said Creighton. “The ERC continues to grow stronger year after year. But Liam and I feel ready for the challenge. We’re excited to get started and experience everything that comes with competing in the European championship. I have followed the championship closely on Rally.TV, seeing it grow and develop. To now be a part of it is an amazing opportunity, hopefully we can put on a good show.”
Support from key figures
John Coyne, the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy founder and patron, has joined Stellantis Motorsport’s customer racing chief François Wales in backing Creighton for success in 2026.
“We are delighted to support William and Liam as they step up from their 2025 BRC championship win to contest the 2026 ERC with TRT and Stellantis, continuing their successful development journey since joining the Academy in 2020,” Coyne said.
Wales added: “We are very happy to have William and Liam joining the Stellantis family for an exciting 2026 ERC. Their talent and experience will be a strong asset in this highly competitive environment. We wish them a great season within the TRT team and with the great support of Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy.”
Creighton will begin his ERC adventure on 43rd Andalusia Rally - Sierra Morena - Córdoba World Heritage Site from 17 - 19 April.
