Competitors planning to contest the all-asphalt event from 4 - 6 July can now sign up for action via the FIA registration portal following the publication of the event’s supplementary regulations.
Based south of Rome in the town of Fiuggi, which is famous for its natural spring water, Rally di Roma Capitalie once again features a spectacular driving parade and super special stage in the Eternal City ahead of two days of intense asphalt competition.
However, organiser Max Rendina and his colleagues at Motorsport Italia have made several exciting changes to the route, “reaffirming their commitment to delivering a competitive and spectacular event”, according to today’s announcement.
Rally di Roma Capitale's new look by the team that made it possible
Motorsport Italia has revealed a heavily revised route for its FIA European Rally Championship counter. A communication from the company explains what’s new.
“While maintaining key elements such as Rome's central role and the rally headquarters in Fiuggi, this year's itinerary includes brand-new special stages and two major tests of over 30 kilometres each – the only event in the ERC calendar to feature such long stages in both legs.
“The event continues its commitment to excellence and environmental responsibility, remaining the only round in the championship to have achieved three-star accreditation within the FIA Environmental Programme.
“The Qualifying Stage, Fumone, retains its name but adopts a new configuration. The opening 2.5 kilometres will be run in the opposite direction to 2024, before linking into part of the former Alatri stage for roughly four kilometres, ending with a spectacular jump.
“Leg one on Saturday 5 July begins with Collepardo – Pozzo D’Antullo (6.47km), a fully new stage connecting Vico del Lazio to Collepardo and finishing near the historic sinkhole of Pozzo d'Antullo – a dramatic karst formation over 40 metres deep, surrounded by lush vegetation. A scenic liaison section will lead crews through the Gola dell'Inferno and past the Certosa of Trisulti.
“Saturday's highlight is the brand-new Torre di Cicerone stage, measuring 34.57km and almost entirely unprecedented. The route starts near the Roman aqueduct in Fontana Liri, passes by the Civitavecchia Necropolis, and finishes at the Torre di Cicerone in Arpino, birthplace of the famed Roman orator.
“The revised Santopadre stage will open one kilometre earlier than last year and retain the popular final jump – a crowd favourite framed by a natural amphitheatre designed for spectators.
“Sunday, 5 July features the returning Guarcino-Altipiani – the only Italian stage with a tyre warming zone at the start. The key challenge of the day will be Canterano-Subiaco, over 30km long. Its final section mirrors the closing part of last year's Cave-Subiaco stage, and it may prove decisive in shaping the overall standings.
“The rally will conclude with the scenic Jenne-Monastero stage, whose second pass will serve as the Power Stage. Known for its passage through natural rock tunnels near the Monastery of Santa Scolastica, this test offers a stunning interplay of light and shadow – a fitting finale to the 2025 edition.
“As in previous years, the finish will take place in Fiuggi, which also hosts the service park (divided into multiple zones) and the Rally HQ, located in the town's new auditorium.”
More information is available at www.rallydiromacapitale.it with priority drivers required to enter via https://registrations.fia.com/rally and non-priority drivers registering at https://registrations.fia.com/ercita. Entries close on 19 June.
Rally di Roma Capitale kicks off a run of four asphalt counters and hosts the ERC for the ninth time having appeared on the schedule every year since 2017 when Bryan Bouffier beat Kajetan Kajetanowicz to victory by 0.3sec.
