After collecting the ERC Most Improved Driver of the Year award from FIA ERC Sporting Delegate Miikka Anttila during the ERC Awards in Zagreb earlier this month, Armstrong, who was co-driven by Shane Byrne, said: “It’s obviously been a bit of an up and down year, but it’s obviously been going better on the last couple of rallies, compared to last year I’ve got much more pace and it’s nice to get this memento to show I’ve been getting faster so thank you to the fans.
“You’ve got to believe in yourself and everything you learn from rally to rally you’ve got to put that into practice. When you learn one event and know what to expect you can come back the next year and attack it.”
