The 2022 FIA ERC3 champion and series regular has always put a focus on car livery design and 2026 was no exception with a striking cartoon character-based colour scheme adorning his Pirelli-equipped Ford Fiesta Rally3.
After accepting the ERC Livery of the Year award on Widłak’s behalf during the end-of-season prize-giving event in Guimarães last month, Jakub Socha, Widłak’s Vacat Motorsport team manager, explained the background to the eye-catching design.
“It’s back to the roots because when Igor started his career in hillclimbing and he was competing with Vacat Motorsport owner and engineer Rafał Grzesiński, both of them on their Lancer Evo 10s had cartoon liveries – Transformers or The Flintstones,” Socha said. “This year we decided that if racing is not the most important thing for us, we are making it with a smile to fulfil our dreams so let’s go back to those childhood memories and that’s why we wanted to give a smile to our supporters and that’s why we’re The Flintstones this year.”

Widłak beat Marcel Neulinger, Philip Allen, Miko Marczyk and Andrea Mabellini to the ERC Livery of the Year award after he pooled 51 per cent of the public vote.
