The Hungarian hero, who finished third on the gravel counter last season, has joined the expanded Team MRF Tyres line-up, which also includes Simone Tempestini, the Rally Hungary winner in 2024, Roope Korhonen and Max McRae.
While Csomós will continue to be run by HRT Racing, the 31-year-old is switching from Škoda to Citroën power with support from the Indian premium tyre manufacturer for the first time.
“I’m really happy for this opportunity with Team MRF Tyres,” said Csomós, who’s rated as one of Hungary’s fastrest rally drivers. “It’s a great chance to show our potential and fight at the front. I know the adaptation will be crucial, but I’ve seen the strength of the MRF Tyres package in these conditions last year, and I’m confident we can quickly adapt to the new tyres, even if we have never competed with them before. We will give our maximum to make it happen.”

According to Team MRF Tyres, the addition of Csomós is “further strengthening an already proven roster. Csomós heads into his home round with strong momentum and clear ambitions, relying on the experience gathered last year and the proven competitiveness of MRF Tyres on Hungarian gravel.”
For Csomós, the chance to represent Team MRF Tyres on VI Rally Hungary signals a long-awaited ERC comeback. He’s not competed in the championship since a car-wrecking crash on Rally Islas Canarias last May – his second on the event in as many seasons.
As well as his podium in Hungary in 2024, he finished third on Barum Czech Rally Zlín in 2023, when he came within a handful of stages of winning Rally Hungary only to crash out in heartbreaking fashion.
