Matulka goes all-in with full-time ERC bid
Jakub Matulka will take on the FIA European Rally Championship’s leading lights when he steps up to the Rally2-based ERC1 category this season.
The 24-year-old tackled four ERC events at Rally3 level – including taking victory in ERC3 on JDS Machinery Rali Ceredigon last September – before he stepped up to the championship’s top tier on Rally Silesia the following month and scored overall points in the process.
For 2025, Matulka is planning to contest all eight ERC rounds in a Michelin-equipped Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, which will be entered by LOTTO Matulka Rally Team and co-driven by his fellow Pole Damian Syty. Matulka and Syty are also planning a Polish championship campaign.

“We are facing another season with very busy schedule and plenty of things to learn,” said Matulka, who placed fourth in last season’s Polish championship with one victory to his name.
We will continue our progress with the Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, fighting against the fastest drivers in Europe on the most demanding roads in this part of the world.
“Competition in the European Rally Championship is not a new thing to me, as I had a chance to complete some stages in full attack mode, although in a different car and with different goals. This is another step forward in my career and I am happy that we were able to put everything together – so I would like to thank my partners for this.

“We also add the Polish Rally Championship campaign to our schedule and for sure we will do our best to improve our 2024 position. Damian Syty joins me in the car this year, our cooperation has started in a very good way. I count on his experience which for sure will be useful this season.
“I am perfectly aware of the challenge which awaits us – but this makes me even more motivated. However, my head remains calm and I am open to more important lessons. I also know that I can always rely on great support of the fans – and this helps a lot with our preparations.”

Matulka, the 2023 Polish Class 3 champion, has secured support from Totalizator Sportowy, owner of LOTTO brand, in addition Złomex S.A., TG Recycling, DB Logistic, Park Poniwiec and LAKMA.
He will begin his ERC campaign on the season-opening 42nd Rally Sierra Morena - Córdoba Patrimonio de la Humanidad in Spain from 3 - 6 April, while his home event, 81st Rally Poland, takes place from 13 - 15 June.
