McBride started the Lewis & Hunter Cambrian Rally finale yesterday (Saturday) in a two-way battle with Joseph Kelly for the title and lucrative prize package.
What amounted to a winner-takes-all season showdown went in McBride’s favour by a margin of 12.6sec. The 22-year-old also secured the Probite British Rally Championship Junior title alongside co-driver Darragh Mullen.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to take top honours in both the Junior BRC and Stellantis Cup at the Cambrian Rally,” McBride said. “It was a tough and competitive day with a great battle from start to finish, so I’m over the moon to come out on top.
“A massive thank you to Darragh for his incredible work all year, to the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy for their continued support, all my incredible sponsors and to the BDM Motorsport Team for providing a flawless car throughout the season. And of course, huge thanks to all my family and friends for their unwavering support during what has been an unforgettable year of rallying.”
The €40,000 support package McBride receives consists of the championship registration, entry fees and tyres for five Junior ERC events in 2026.
Ioan Lloyd won Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup IRE & UK in 2024 and developed into a Junior ERC frontrunner in his first season, finishing runner-up to champion Calle Carlberg.
The Stellantis Rally Cup IRE & UK is organised and promoted by Race & Rally, Michelin Motorsport, Protyre Motorsport Ireland and LP Tents.
