Having equipped Hayden Paddon’s back-to-back ERC titles between 2023 and 2024, Pirelli is celebrating another highly significant achievement.
Victory for Jon Armstrong and fourth place for fellow Ford Fiesta Rally2 driver Romet Jürgenson on last weekend’s Croatia Rally ensured Pirelli finished on top of the standings ahead of Michelin with MRF finishing third and Hankook fourth.
“This has been a tremendously exciting European championship for us in many respects, and winning is the crowning achievement of a great team effort,” said Terenzio Testoni, Pirelli Rally Activity Manager. “The greatest satisfaction comes from the confirmed performance and reliability of our product range across all event types and in every condition. The latest proof came from the highly positive debut of our new wet weather tyre, the Cinturato RWD, which on very wet surfaces allowed our drivers to perform at their best.”
During the opening day in Croatia, which was characterised by low temperatures, M-Sport Ford World Rally Team driver Armstrong opted for a mix of P Zero RA7E and P Zero RA7+C tyres. In the heavy of leg two, he was able to rely on the new Cinturato RWD tyre, which made its official debut.
Pirelli also won the FIA ERC3 Championship with Tymek Abramowski taking the honours in a Ford Fiesta Rally3.
Michelin supplied overall champion Miko Marczyk (Škoda Fabia RS Rally2), while Calle Carlberg (Opel Corsa Rally4) claimed an ERC4/Junior ERC title double driving on Hankook tyres.
Team MRF Tyres clinched the FIA European Rally Championship for Teams for the third time as Martin Vlček celebrated winning the inaugural FIA Master ERC Championship.
