Reiersen making the Tarmac grade in ERC
Isak Reiersen delivered his best Tarmac drive yet in the FIA European Rally Championship when he finished 11th overall on last month’s 82nd Rally Poland – wowing his team boss in the process.
With limited asphalt experience, the highly rated Swede is using his ERC campaign in 2026 to build his driving time on Tarmac. Having finished just outside the points-paying positions in Spain and Italy earlier this season, Reiersen gained in more ways than one in Poland.
On demanding sealed-surface stages, Reiersen delivered another step up in performance by fighting through from 18th to just outside the top 10 in the Hankook-equipped Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 he shares with co-driver Stefan Gustavsson. The achievement earned him five points and puts him 13th in the provisional standings after four rounds.

“I'm really pleased,” the JC Raceteknik driver said. “The result is one thing, but the feeling I've had in the car in this event is something I never experienced before on Tarmac. The great feeling continued the whole way through, and we managed to jump up the leaderboard to P11 at the finish.

JC Raceteknik team principal Joel Christoffersson added: “I’m delighted for Isak that he had such a strong event. It’s mentally very tough for him this year, knowing that aside from the small amount of gravel rallies where we know he can fight for top results, each rally is a learning process, and there is no shortcut for that. I admire what he and Stefan are doing and we are right beside them, we just need to keep working away and its clear that big progress is being made.”
Reiersen banked first ERC points on Tarmac in 11th

Reiersen made more Tarmac-driving progress earlier this month when he finished second on #RA Rally Regione Piemonte - CRZ in Italy last weekend on stages used by the main Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Sparco field.
The 22-year-old is one of 26 Rally2 drivers eligible for ERC points on next week’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín (14 - 16 August).
