Reiersen revs up for home ERC run
Isak Reiersen is a driver on a mission in the all-action FIA European Rally Championship.
Following an experience-building start to the season on the Tarmac-based 43rd Andalusia Rally - Sierra Morena - Córdoba World Heritage Site, a surface on which he has very limited knowledge, the Swede heads to the more familiar gravel stages of his native Sweden later this month.
And after finishing third on BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia in 2025, the 22-year-old is targeting a return to the top three when the event takes place from 22 - 24 May.
“We are going in there with pretty good confidence,” the JC Raceteknik driver said. “We will do some testing now on gravel, I think I can give [our rivals] some fighting to do. I’m really looking forward to a great event with something to really build on. It’s really developed throughout the year so it will be a great one.”
Reiersen, who competes in a Hankook-supplied Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, completed the BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia podium last season having been firmly in the top-three battle throughout.
He admits there’s an element of pressure on his shoulders due to the expectations on his shoulders.
“You can say it like that but I’m pretty secure about myself and I’m not that stressed about it,” Reiersen said. “Of course I want to do a great result, especially after my third place last year. There [will be] some fast drivers, some WRC drivers, they have plenty of experience. I will go out and give it a shot and aim for the podium, that’s for sure.”

Of his top-20 finish on 43rd Andalusia Rally - Sierra Morena - Córdoba World Heritage Site, Reiersen said: “It’s something to build on for the future and we have gathered a lot of experience. We are happy and enjoyed the whole rally with all the fans with huge passion for rallying and nice weather so it couldn’t be so wrong.”
