As well as an extensive route overhaul, the event’s operational hub – including HQ, service park and media centre – will relocate from Fiuggi – its long-term home – to the Eternal City, thereby “further strengthening the event’s identity and international visibility”, according to organiser Motorsport Italia.
Delivered in close collaboration with Roma Capitale, the Department for Major Events, the Lazio Region, ACI Sport and the municipalities along the route, with the patronage of the Ministry for Sport and Youth, Sport e Salute and CONI, supported by a broad network of institutions and local authorities involved in the organisation, the all-Tarmac event will run from 3- 5 July.
According to a Rally di Roma Capitale communication, “this shared effort reinforces the connection between sport, territory and community, positioning Rome as an international stage capable of combining spectacle, promotion and long-term vision.

“The 2026 edition will also mark an important step in the growth of Rally di Roma Capitale, which will be closely observed by the FIA and WRC Promoter in line with its planned inclusion on the 2027 FIA World Championship calendar.
“From a sporting perspective, and in light of this key milestone, both the route and event logistics will be largely redesigned. The aim is to offer a renewed technical challenge while preserving the rally’s identity, further improving flow, safety and the overall experience for crews, officials and spectators. Environmental sustainability will once again be a central pillar of the 2026 edition.
“Rally di Roma Capitale will continue to strengthen and expand its green initiatives, with the target of retaining the three-star accreditation of the FIA Environmental Programme, a result that has made the event a reference point within the FIA ERC for best practices and real environmental responsibility. Strong focus will also remain on social inclusion and road safety, long-standing elements of the Rally di Roma Capitale project.
“The event will further develop its collaboration with local organisations and associations involved in inclusive initiatives, while introducing dedicated projects specifically designed for the rally. In terms of road safety, new awareness and educational activities are already being planned, aimed not only at young people but at a wider audience. In this context, the successful concept of “The road is not a videogame” will be continued and further enhanced.”

Max Rendina, who heads up the Rally di Roma Capitale organising team, said: “Rally di Roma Capitale has grown year after year thanks to a clear vision and strong collaboration with institutions. The 2026 edition represents an important step for us: we continue to invest in sustainability, organisational quality and our relationship with the territory, looking to the future with ambition and a strong sense of responsibility. Rome is a unique and extraordinary setting, and our goal is to further strengthen the event, making it increasingly solid, modern and aligned with the highest international standards. It will be an edition of both continuity and significant change – a crucial challenge lies ahead.”
In addition to hosting the ERC, Rally di Roma Capitale will also form part of the Campionato Italiano Assoluto Rally Sparco schedule for 2026.
