The Hankook-equipped 21-year-old Karlstad resident reflects on finishing third on Sweden’s round of the FIA European Rally Championship.
Victory of sorts: “I’m super-happy, I couldn’t have wanted anything more. We had a plan that we worked on to be top three and I’m so glad that it worked out.”
Keeping it together: “It has been so close all the time, it has been really stressful, not easy to cope with your mind and keep it together, but we did and I’m so happy about that.”
Richly deserved: “My whole life circulates around this. Every time since I wake up and go to sleep I do everything I can to be as good as possible and really work on it. So it’s good to get a podium for that, it’s good for the motivation.”
From 2023 Junior ERC winner to overall ERC podium finisher: “It’s a big step for me and I really hope this can make some good things for the future and everyone who is with me and helping me also sees that there is potential.”
Next stop Poland: “Poland is a new country for me, it will be hard but we will continue where we are and try to fight for it. I really hope to make some impression and make something good for the future because after Poland we don’t know what we do. I really hope we can get some more opportunities to make more international events. We know we can be fighting at the top. It’s really nice and good for the confidence for Poland.”
On two wheels: “Actually when you are fighting so close and so even all the time it happens. I was very unlucky there was a camera on the inside! That was the first thing I thought about when I got onto two wheels! These things can happen when it’s so tight and I was really fighting this weekend for this podium position.”
No nerves: “On the last stage weirdly I wasn’t nervous. I was just grateful for the chance to be here and drive. Second or third for me I can’t really compare to the other guys. They are so fast and drive so much rallies. I’m just happy it’s a podium. We’ve been driving so well and so fast all weekend.”
