Sylvain Michel made an impressive start to life in the FIA European Rally Championship, claiming second place in ERC Junior Under 28.

Stepping up to the ERC after winning the French Tarmac championship, Michel scored a handful of category stage wins on Rally Islas Canarias in the ŠKODA Fabia R5 he shares with co-driver Jérôme Degout.

“We had a good start to the rally with the right sensations,” Michel said. “We worked on the set-up on Friday to stop the front tyres being destroyed and for me to be less aggressive. But I’m very happy, for us and all the team. It’s a good weekend for us now and for the future.”

The ERC Junior Under 28 Championship continues on Rally Rzeszow in Poland in early August.

The SEAJETS Acropolis Rally in Greece hosts round three of the 2017 FIA European Rally Championship from 2-4 June. Key event details and information appear below.

Tibor Érdi Jr says winning ERC2 on Rally Islas Canarias was just what was needed in his bid to claim the FIA European Rally Championship category title.
