The dramatic image gives a full insight into the conditions competitors faced at last year’s opening round as jets of water fire through both the Hyundai’s bonnet vents.
In second place was Oliveira’s compatriot André Lavadinho, who snapped champion Efrén Llarena negotiating the very same watersplash in his Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. Flavius Croitoriu’s shot of Adam Březík flying through a tunnel, millimetres away from the wall, at Barum Czech Rally Zlín came third.
