Big recognition for ERC Rally Islas Canarias ahead of WRC move

Rally Islas Canarias, which will step up from the FIA European Rally Championship to the FIA World Rally Championship in 2025, has received further recognition.

At the recent Awards for Canarian Sport event, Todo Sport, the long-standing promoter and organiser of Rally Islas Canarias, received the award for the Promotion and Dissemination of Sport on the Canary Islands.

A statement from Todo Sport read: “This is one of the most prestigious and recognised sporting competitions in the archipelago outside our borders and, without a doubt, a reference in the motorsport calendar of our country. About to celebrate its golden anniversary, the Gran Canaria event will also be a World Rally Championship event in its next two editions, which is a reinforcement of the spectacular work carried out by its organisers.”

Germán Morales, President of Todo Sport, President of the Organising Committee of Rally Islas Canarias and promoter of Rally Islas Canarias, accepted the award during the ceremony, which was organised by the local government.

Rally Islas Canarias will form round four of the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship from 24 - 27 April.
