World warm-up for Opel ERC Juniors
FIA ERC Junior Under 27 contenders Tom Kristensson and Mārtiņš Sesks will prepare for Barum Czech Rally Zlín in style when they showcase their skills and potential for future stardom on Germany’s world championship counter next week.
Kristensson and Sesks – part of the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team in the European Rally Championship – will pilot their Opel ADAM R2s on the all-asphalt event from 16-19 August, ideal preparation for the next ERC Junior U27 round in Czech Republic the following week (24-26 August).
“I had the chance to compete in the ADAC Rallye Deutschland in my two years in the ADAC Opel Rallye Cup,” said Swede Kristensson, 27. “It was an unbelievable experience and I can’t wait to come back in my ADAM R2. For sure I couldn’t imagine a better preparation for the ERC Junior U27 round at Zlín one week later.”
Eighteen-year-old Latvian Sesks, the current ERC Junior U27 leader following his victory on the recent Tarmac-based Rally di Roma Capitale, said: “We will enjoy every moment and try to give our competitors in the RC4 category a hard time. Opel took the RC4 win at the ADAC Rallye Deutschland in the last four years so I know those footsteps are big ones.”
