Csomós, known by his fans as ‘Mixi’, is from the Zemplén region where the fourth edition of Rally Hungary will take place from 6 - 8 October. His co-driver, Viktor Bán, reckons this familiarity of the challenging Zemplén terrain could make the difference in the battle to finish on top in the ERC.
“It’s our country, it’s our stages, Mixi lives on this point of the stages, and we would like to do everything that we can do to win,” said Bán, who linked up with Csomós for Rally Rally di Roma Capitale in July and also partnered his fellow Hungarian on Barum Czech Rally Zlín last month.
Csomós and Bán finished a career-high second on the Czech round in their GR Motosport Kft Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo. They took a stage win and set six top-three stage times during a fine display against rivals in more modern machinery.
