After SS5: Griebel's great R5 debut continues in the ERC
Marijan Griebel continues to shine on his R5 debut on the CNP ASFALISTIKI Cyprus Rally, his prize drive for winning the FIA ERC Junior title.
The German driver has been a leading contender from the off, and posted the second-fastest stage time for the second occasion on DHL Lythrodontas – the longest test of the event at 22 kilometres and made up of 86 per cent asphalt. That was despite an intercom issue.
Griebel’s fellow 2016 ERC Junior competitor Nikolay Gryazin was only half a second slower on the stage so remains second overall, 5.8s in front of Griebel.
Alexey Lukyanuk was 10.7s faster on the stage than Griebel and now leads by 50.7s overall.
The last of the morning’s four stages is Lagia 1 at 10h10 local time. Click here to view live timing.
