Dani Sordo

Date of birth : 02/05/1983

Who is he? Hugely consistent and experienced, Sordo has amassed a legion of fans since arriving in world rallying 15 years ago.

Getting started: This asphalt specialist’s career began at the age of 12 in motocross and karting, but he also tried hillclimbing before moving to rallying and winning the Junior world crown in 2005.

Breakthrough success: The Spaniard, who is reunited with former co-driver Carlos Del Barrio for 2018, scored his maiden WRC victory in Germany in 2013 and was signed by Hyundai Motorsport later that year.

Team player: Since then Sordo has been an integral part of the team and helped to achieve Hyundai’s milestone one-two result on Rallye Deutschland in 2014 behind Thierry Neuville and has since secured many more podiums.

Demo run: Sordo made his ERC debut on Barum Czech Rally Zlín to showcase the Hyundai i20 R5 to potential customers in what is a busy marketplace and a highly competitive championship. Despite the difficult weather conditions he finished an impressive third overall.
