Who is he? Liepāja’s number one son, Sesks is the FIA ERC3 and ERC Junior Under 27 champion* for 2018 following a hugely impressive campaign in his Pirelli-equipped Opel ADAM R2.
Experience pays: An ERC Junior Experience graduate Sesks stepped up to ERC Junior for 2018 with the ADAC Opel Rallye Junior Team after excelling on gravel events in Latvia last season, which included finishing second in ERC Junior U27 on Rally Liepāja, despite a spectacular roll on the opening day of his home event.
A thinking driver: With Diogo Gago out in front and seemingly out of reach on the season-opening Azores Airlines Rallye, Sesks wisely settled for second place rather than risk crashing out in his pursuit of the Portuguese.
And a natural on asphalt: Despite having no previous asphalt experience, Sesks took a class podium on Rally Islas Canarias before scoring his maiden category win on the sealed-surface Rally di Roma Capitale. And he proved once again that his lack of asphalt-driving knowledge wasn’t a hindrance as he scored his second class win in the Czech Republic to put him on the brink of the title.
A different way to win it: Sesks became ERC Junior U27 champion* on PZM Rally Poland despite crashing out on both legs of the high-speed gravel event.
