Armstrong: I’ll be watching ERC opener
Jon Armstrong will take a break from chasing his maiden stage win in the FIA World Rally Championship by watching the FIA European Rally Championship season opener in Spain.
Armstrong, a two-time ERC event winner and runner-up in last year’s standings, plans to follow the 43rd Andalusia Rally - Sierra Morena - Córdoba World Heritage Site on Rally.TV.
The Rally1 rookie, part of the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team WRC attack, said: “The ERC is a good chanmpionship and for sure I’ll watch and for sure I’ll want to be fighting with them. Like Barum and Ceredigion it’s a really nice rally so it’s a shame not to be doing those this year but we have ‘bigger fish’ this year.”
Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy star Armstrong continued: “There’s quite of lot of Irish guys that’s quite exciting. We’ll keep an eye on them and see how they’ll do. It’s a hot field always in the ERC. I honestly don’t know who will win but it will be exciting.”
