The 2025 ERC title winner crashed out a handful of kilometres from the finish of the 43rd Andalusia Rally - Sierra Morena - Córdoba World Heritage Site’s third stage this morning. He was 12th overall at the time after reporting intercom issues on the previous test.
Marczyk and co-driver Szymon Gospodarczyk were uninjured but their Michelin-supplied Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 suffered suspected suspension damage after it struck a roadside safety barrier. From Rally.TV’s live coverage it appeared that the Polish crew had carried too much speed into a right-hand turn and crashed.
The crash means that Marczyk and Gospodarczyk will fail to go the distance on an ERC event for the first time since Rally Hungary in 2023. The time before that was Barum Czech Rally Zlín in August 2019, their first ERC start outside their native Poland and their third championship appearance in total.
