Creighton thanks the boss after ERC score as Rahill aims to fly high
William Creighton credited Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy founder and patron John Coyne for helping him to his top 10 FIA European Rally Championship finish in Poland.
With Coyne in attendance, Michelin-equipped Citroën-driving Creighton finished ninth overall on 82nd Rally Poland having run fifth during the opening leg.
Afterwards, the reigning British champion said: “It’s the first rally this year where he’s been with us on event, just because of the dates [clashing], but it was really good to have him here because he’s in constant communication with us. That support on event is hard to beat so huge thanks to him and everything he continues to do for us, it’s very much appreciated.”

Casey Jay Coleman, who battled back from 15th to second in FIA ERC3, also benefits from Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy support. He said: “He’s a bit of a good luck charm, he gave us a good bit of advice and it was nice to bring home a good result for the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy.”

Sweden ERC experience to boost Rahill in Finland
Craig Rahill plans to use experience gained from contesting BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia, round two of the FIA European Rally Championship in May, when he resumes his FIA Junior WRC campaign on Secto Rally Finland this week.
The Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy-backed driver is contesting the Junior WRC alongside his ERC3 campaign. He heads to Finland on the back of retiring from 82nd Rally Poland after an early off prevented him from continuing beyond midday service.

Rahill, who led the Rally3 division after the opening stage in Poland, said: “Sweden was a great test for Finland to get used to the high-speed gravel stages and our pace improved throughout the weekend there. The pace will be hot in Finland as usual, but we’ll be looking to bounce back from Poland with a better result there.
“The Irish have a good enough track record in Finland with Eamonn [Kelly] winning there last year. Craig Breen was always good there and William [Creighton] was good there as well. We’ll try to keep that legacy going.”
