Having started the sealed-surface event 38 points ahead of The Racing Factory - Motorsport Solutions, results from Andrei Gîrtofan and Simone Tempestini have increased its lead to 42 points with two rounds remaining.
“It was an important rally for us,” Tempestini said. “After the good pace in Poland we missed the result, so it was quite important to finish here to get the experience. I’m happy with my pace in some sections. I would really like to thank my partners and sponsors and also Team MRF for letting me drive in this superb championship.”
To also contribute points to Team MRF Tyres makes the result even more positive
Gîrtofan, who scored ERC Drivers’ points for the first time in Zlín, said: “Finishing our first Barum is something we can be happy about. It is an incredibly difficult rally, probably one of the toughest events we have faced, and every stage gave us something new to learn. We improved our confidence kilometre after kilometre and reaching the finish was our main target. To also contribute points to Team MRF Tyres makes the result even more positive. We leave Zlín with a lot more experience than when we arrived.”
