With Damian Syty co-driving, Matulka finished eighth overall on 43rd Andalusia Rally - Sierra Morena - Córdoba World Heritage Site, scoring a maiden ERC stage win in the process.
“I feel we’ve made progress and we can be pleased with our pace, which puts us among some really strong crews,” the ORLEN LOTTO Rally Team driver said. “It wasn’t perfect, but we’re looking ahead with optimism. I’m happy about our first stage win on the European stages and improving on last year’s result. We’ve already taken some important lessons and we’ll keep working hard. Big thanks to Damian and the whole ORLEN LOTTO Rally Team for a great job. Thanks as well to our loyal fans and partners for their support, which makes it possible for us to be here.

The result was Matulka’s best in the ERC to date, while his fastest time on SS11 was credited to “a combination of solid pace and controlled driving”, according to an ORLEN LOTTO Rally Team communication.
Matulka and Syty continue their ERC campaign on BAUHAUS Royal Rally of Scandinavia from 22 - 24 May.
