Kajetan Kajetanowicz is bidding for a third consecutive FIA European Rally Championship title in 2017. The LOTOS Rally Team star took time out of his Rally Rzeszow, his home event, preparations to answer a few questions.

What is the best thing about being a rally driver?
“It’s the best job in the world. You drive expensive cars and you can push them to the maximum, squeeze everything that is possible to do.”

And what is the hardest thing?
“It is money… Because when you don’t have enough money, you can’t become a rally driver.”

Who is your hero in life and who inspired you to try rallying in the first place?
“My hero is everyone who works hard and sacrifices himself in order to achieve success. These people know the price of success. It often costs you your own personal life.”

If you had not become a rally driver, what do you think you’d be doing right now?
“I don’t know. I am not thinking about it right now but I suppose I would not be a nice boy, but I’m just joking!”

What three items do you never leave home without?
“Watch, phone and a good mindset.”

Rally Rzeszow takes place from 3-5 August.
