This year’s FIA European Rally Champion Efrén Llarena will be hoping for a strong showing at the final round of the 2022 series and he spent Friday and Saturday getting more mileage on Spanish asphalt.
Driving a Team MRF Tyres Škoda Fabia Rally2, Llarena and co-driver Sara Fernández finished fourth overall at Rallye Villa de Llanes.
ERC Open title aspirant Alberto Monarri brought his Suzuki Swift R4LLY S home in seventh, while ERC4 points leader Óscar Palomo ended 11th overall in a Peugeot 208 Rally4 - missing out on a class victory by just one-tenth of a second.
In Slovenia, Ford Fiesta Rally2 hotshot Erik Cais was forced to settle for second overall after dropping almost two minutes with an off-road moment on the penultimate stage of MAHLE Rally Nova Gorica.
Cais’ excursion was caused by an oil spill in the road which also caught out Austrian star Simon Wagner. Wagner crashed on the same corner and unfortunately retired from the runner-up spot.
Pedro Câmara took his Citroën C3 Rally2 to victory at the PicoWines Rali in Portugal. He finished more than 1min 30sec clear of Luís Rego Junior, who was driving a Fabia.
