From Rally Poland fan to Rally Poland contender: Torn goes for ERC Junior glory
Ken Torn will return to Rally Poland to bid for a second consecutive FIA ERC3 Junior Championship victory two years after attending the event as a spectator.
Torn travelled from his native Estonia to Rally Poland when it last counted for world championship points in 2017.
He’ll be back in Mikołajki this week armed with an Estonian Autosport Junior Team Ford Fiesta R2T and eager to build on his debut victory in the Pirelli-supported category in Latvia last month.
“For sure we hope to make a good result like in Liepāja but first of all let’s see if we can keep the pace,” said Torn, who abandoned his Junior world championship programme to chase ERC success. “I’ve never done the rally before, but I was there as a spectator in 2017 when it was part of the world championship. I remember seeing some very fast jumps and some sandy and soft places. It looks enjoyable and I hope I can get a good result.”
PZM 76th Rally Poland takes place from 28-30 June.
