Late crash hits Falcón’s ERC hopes hard

As if a persistent gear-shift issue wasn’t bad enough, a high-speed final-stage accident compounded a frustrating Barum Czech Rally Zlín for ERC Ladies’ Trophy contender Emma Falcón.

The Canary Islander was hampered by a paddle-shift issue from stage five, then was slowed by a turbo boost pipe breaking free on stage 12 of the FIA European Rally Championship qualifier.

With one stage remaining, Falcón was on course to finish second in the ERC Ladies’ Trophy classification and ninth in ERC3 when she crashed on a long, left-hander on the last stage, fortunately without injury.
