Loubet wants Canarias ERC podium to make up for recent setbacks
Pierre-Louis Loubet will start Rally Islas Canarias anxious for a strong result following setbacks on his last two outings.
The Team OSCARO talent, 22, was in the podium fight on the Azores Rallye only for a mechanical failure to end his hopes on the final morning. And following a frustrating Tour de Corse, his home round of the world championship, Loubet is hoping for his run of bad luck to end.
“My target is to be as close to the podium as possible after the disaster in Corsica and get back the confidence,” said the 2C Compétition ŠKODA Fabia R5 driver. “Rally Islas Canarias is not really a difficult rally but it’s important to keep the speed up for the long, fast corners. We know the car has good potential on Tarmac and we hope to be able to tell just how good.”
Rally Islas Canarias counts as round two of the FIA European Rally Championship and the ERC1 Junior Championship, the category for young stars in R5 cars, which Loubet contests.
