Late car swap saves Sesks' ERC Open bid

ERC Open star Martins Sesks had to make a last minute car switch when problems arose during testing for the Azores Rallye this week (25 - 27 March).

The Latvian’s Skoda Fabia Rally2 Kit - which he set the pace with in Fafe - developed an electrical issue during the pre-event test earlier this week.

While the electrical drama could not be cured, Proracing Rally Team had a trick up its sleeve. Serhii Potiiko is not competing this weekend, but his car was sitting in the truck ready to be used. Problem solved!

Sesks will run with Potiiko’s striking livery, which features archive newspaper clippings from throughout the Ukrainian’s rallying career.

Suzuki Motor Ibérica will also compete for ERC Open honours with two of their Swift Rally2 Kits featuring in the entry. Joan Vinyes is reunited with regular co-driver Jordi Mercader who missed Fafe due to illness, while Alberto Monarri will steer the other car.

Victor Cartier brings some variety in his home-built Toyota Yaris. The Frenchman withdrew from the season opener due to a technical problem, so be prepared to see a big push as he tries to make up for lost ground.
