Both will drive similar M-Sport Poland-built Ford Fiesta Rally3 cars as the fight for championship honours heats up on western Latvia’s rapid speed tests.
Widlak currently tops the standings by 40 points from his rival. The Pole has started every rally so far this season, while Kasari missed the Azores Rallye and Rally Islas Canarias.
ERC3 drivers can count their best seven scores from eight starts, meaning a finish for Widlak in all remaining events would almost certainly guarantee the title.
“We have been testing today (Wednesday),” said Widlak. “So far the feeling has been very good and we are looking forward to starting the rally this weekend.”
