The Argentine has enjoyed a flawless season so far, taking victory on both sealed and loose surface events in the Azores and Canary Islands.
Those two wins have earned Soria a 17 point advantage in the one-make Renault Clio Rally5 series with three rounds to go, and a similar result in Liepāja would go a long way in terms of strengthening his title bid.
Last year, however, Soria retired on the very first stage after going off the road and into a ditch. Whilst the 27-year-old is keeping one eye on the championship target, he’s also concentrating on avoiding any slip-ups.
“I am really, really excited to get going,” Soria told FIAERC.com. “We’re back on gravel, which is my favourite surface, although last year we didn’t have a good result here.
