Clio Rally3 to launch in 2023

The Clio Rally3 - Renault's first-ever four-wheel drive rally car - could hit the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) stages as early as next Spring.

Renault cars are already a familiar sight in the ERC and its front-wheel drive Clio Rally4 and Rally5 machines have been successfully campaigned by the likes of Anthony Fotia, Andrea Mabellini and Paulo Soria in both ERC4 Junior and the Clio Trophy by Toksport WRT.

However, the new model has been developed to FIA Rally3 regulations - making it Renault's first-ever four-wheel drive rally car and eligible for the ERC3 category. It is currently undergoing the homologation process, which is expected to be complete in April 2023.

An announcement from Renault and Alpine Racing today (Monday 28 November) confirmed the Renault Clio Rally3 will be officially unveiled on 15 January at the Circuit du Pas de la Case in Andorra.

It also revealed the Clio Rally3 has now completed its initial testing and development programme which began in May this year and concluded just a few days ago with sessions in Spain.

In total, the car was put through its paces by eight drivers, racking up more than 2500km on Tarmac and more than 2000km on gravel surfaces. Early feedback is believed to have been extremely positive in terms of both performance and reliability.
