Martin László is targeting more progress in the FIA European Rally Championship in 2023, starting with his debut appearance on Rally Serras de Fafe, Felgueiras, Boticas, Vieira do Minho e Cabeceiras de Basto from this Friday (10 March).
Hungarian László made the step up to Rally2 power in the ERC on last August’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín and impressed by finishing ninth overall in a Škoda Fabia.
He built on that performance by placing fifth on the 2022 European championship finale in Catalunya, a result he matched in the FIA Motorsport Games the following week while representing his native Hungary.
And he completed 2022 by winning the annual Szilveszter Rallye at the Hungaroring, venue of his country’s Formula One grand prix.
The 26-year-old FIA Junior ERC graduate, who is co-driven by fellow Hungarian Dávid Berendi (pictured left, below), will continue to rely on Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo power in 2023 with Topp-Cars Rally Team overseeing his campaign and Pirelli supplying tyres.
Tamás Mezey, from Pirelli’s Hungarian distributor Autogumpiplaza.hu, said: “We are proud to announce that Topp-Cars Rally Team, Martin László and Dávid Berendi will be using Pirelli tyres again this year and they will also be part of Autogumpiplaza.hu. Of course, this does not include only financial support but outstanding professional background support.

László, a second-generation rally driver, said: “Thanks to Pirelli Motorsport and Tamás Mezey for their trust. We are looking forward to the joint work.”
