Sesks, driving a Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 for Team MRF Tyres, started Saturday's opening leg in strong fashion with the second-fastest time through SS2. But the Latvian's rally very nearly unravelled when he misjudged a blind crest in the following stage, sending the car into and embankment and very nearly off the road.
The youngster recovered from the scare with minimal time loss, but dropped a handful of seconds later in the stage after overshooting a tight hairpin left.
