Introducing ERC @ 70

The FIA European Rally Championship is turning 70 in 2023 and to mark this standout achievement, FIAERC.com is looking back on the first seven decades with a series of features, posts, videos and more.

We’ll be hearing from ERC legends past and present, reflecting on some of the championship’s significant moments complete with stunning archive images, highlighting a selection of great ERC cars and their star drivers, and presenting key numbers and facts.

There will also be an exciting opportunity for fans to play their part with an online vote launched later this year to select the most legendary ERC driver from a list compiled by ERC experts based across Europe.

Iain Campbell, the ERC Championship Manager, said: “For any motorsport championship to reach 70 years is incredible but the fact that the ERC is still going strong and gathering in strength all the time demonstrates just how fantastic it is.

“Through our ERC @ 70 coverage, we want to highlight the history behind the championship’s longevity and appeal, so we’ll be remembering magic moments, recalling the great drivers, many of whom went on to star in the FIA World Rally Championship, and giving fans a chance to get involved. There’s lots of content to look forward to so keep visiting FIAERC.com and following us on social media throughout this year.”

The ERC @ 70 coverage will begin next weekend with a brief history of the championship, the oldest rally series in the world. The first My ERC Memory will follow later in the month.
