The Czech rolled his Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo 7.7km from the start of ORLEN 79th Rally Poland’s fourth stage. However, the relatively low-speed nature of he roll on a left-hand corner minimised the damage while the intervention of the spectators ensured his time loss was no more than 40sec.
“I was too fast, I was enjoying too much,” said Mareš, who also reported striking a hay bale before the stage finish.
Mareš arrived at midday service in 16th overall, 1min 17.2sec down on rally leader Hayden Paddon.
