The ERC4 contender from Germany is the only driver to have scored points on all events held so far in 2023, a sequence he extended to seven rallies in Czech Republic.
His latest haul was the reward for finishing the all-asphalt Barum Czech Rally Zlín in eighth position at the wheel of his Peugeot 208 Rally4, which was co-driven by Anna-Maria Seidl.
“We are the last team standing but it’s perfect, absolutely and we are glad [to have scored points in every rally, which was my aim before the start of the season],” Kreuter said at final service on Barum Czech Rally Zlín. “Last year was more difficult because of the rain, this time I was not really on top of my level so there were some mistakes and we just had to bring [the car] home safely at the end, not pushing. We are happy to be here, the car worked perfect and everything is good.”
Of the “mistakes” on his way to his latest ERC points finish, Kreuter explained what happened during a few incidents.
“We had a spin on the first stage [on Sunday] and got stuck in grass and had to get pushed out so we lost 50sec there,” Kreuter said. “We had a big ‘aha’ [on Saturday afternoon]. I was braking for a right-four corner, everything was locking and we were all over the place. There was also just a slight touch after a hairpin [on Saturday morning], we were a little too high with the speed and it cost a lot of time. But it was a lot of fun this rally, it was very hard but very fun.”
Rally Hungary hosts the ERC season decider from 6 - 8 October. Kreuter is sixth in the provisional ERC4 standings.
