Rally Hungary is based in the city of Nyíregyháza in the north east of the country from 6 -8 October and a partnership with Hungarian Mobility Development Agency (HUMDA) has been designed to enforce important road safety messages.
Kornél Őry, Chairman of the Rally Hungary Organising Committee, explained: “One of the important tasks of HUMDA is to provide road safety education and training. As part of this, a number of different programmes and campaigns have been organised in recent years, including a nationwide roadshow for children. So far this has been attended by more than 100,000 schoolchildren, raising awareness of the importance of safe driving in a fun way.
“HUMDA is preparing a similar programme at Rally Hungary with a programme for families taking place on Kossuth Square in Nyíregyháza and a poster campaign launched in cooperation with the race organisers. These posters are displayed along the motorway and draw attention to the fact that the road is not a race track and that traffic rules must be observed at all times. Rally racing is for the stages.”
