Rally Estonia brings in new naming rights sponsor Delfi for ERC return

Rally Estonia’s eagerly anticipated return to the FIA European Rally Championship for 2024 will coincide with the start of an exciting new partnership agreement with Delfi Media, one of the largest media houses in the Baltics.

Delfi Media will be Rally Estonia’s naming rights sponsor for a two-year period starting from 2024, an alliance that provides the high-speed gravel event, which takes place from 5 - 7 July, significant media coverage and advertising exposure across the region.

Speaking during the first official press conference to start the build-up to ERC Delfi Rally Estonia, held in the Vision Venue studio located within the T1 Center, Tallinn, earlier today, Delfi Media editor-in-chief, Urmo Soonvald, said: “For Delfi and our users, it is important to always be present where important events for Estonians take place, where there is positive energy, where there is dynamics and excitement. Sport and rally are definitely keywords that belong to Delfi's DNA, and we are glad that together with the organisers of Rally Estonia we have taken a big and important step to move forward together even stronger.

“We appreciate the organisers of Rally Estonia, whose work and development is inspiring and for whom innovation has been a very important key factor. There is a great joy of recognition in this cooperation because we, Delfi, have always tried to think in the same way, to grow and to be among our users all the time.

“Delfi wants to have the best coverage of rally sports in Estonia and through this to be a worthy marketing and communication partner for Rally Estonia. In addition, we have a strong ability through Piletitasku ticket shop to bring all rally fans, both long-term and new, to take part of this unique experience to see ERC Delfi Rally Estonia.”

ERC Delfi Rally Estonia director, Urmo Aava, said: “We are very happy that we can take cooperation with Delfi to the next and very important level of name sponsor cooperation. This is the beginning of a new era, which allows Rally Estonia to turn the Baltic market into our home market and gives additional power to take Rally Estonia's mission and brand even further.

“One of the main goals of ERC Delfi Rally Estonia is definitely to increase both the onsite and TV spectator numbers and become even stronger in communication, through which to bring new fans to the rally stages. In the long term, we want to organise world-class top competitions in Estonia each year, which also contributes to the future growth of rally sports and the community in general.

“ERC Delfi Rally Estonia will undoubtedly be extremely exciting, the competition in the ERC series is very high and it is a pleasure to note that several Estonian drivers have a very good chance of finishing first in the absolute classification.

“The Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 car making its debut at Rallye Monte-Carlo this week will certainly add more to the excitement and competition. We are expecting approximately 120 competitors to the start ERC Delfi Rally Estonia on 5 July and we are working hard with the entire organising team to offer competitors, teams and spectators an extremely exciting, emotional and safe rally weekend.’’

ERC Delfi Rally Estonia is set to begin with a spectacular opening ceremony in Tartu’s Town Hall Square on Friday 5 July following the Qualifying Stage in the Otepää municipality earlier in the day.

The spectacular gravel roads of the Kambja, Kanepi, Otepää and Elva parishes host the timed action on Saturday 6 July with the Kanepi, Kambja and Otepää parishes used on Sunday 7 July.

ERC Delfi Rally Estonia’s service park will be located in the grounds of the Tehvandi Sports Center with the Tartu Town Hall square hosting the finishing podium on 7 July.

Organisers are planning a competitive route of 185.20 kilometres over 14 special stages. The event will count as round four of the 2024 FIA European Rally Championship and 2024 FIA Junior ERC Championship. It will also form part of the Estonian championship schedule.
