M-Sport’s Woda assesses the talents in action as ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy is go for 2024

The inaugural ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy kicks-off in Hungary this weekend and Maciej Woda from M-Sport Poland, the company behind the Fiesta Rally3, has offered his expert view on the contenders.

Partnering with Pirelli and Gulf Race Fuels in establishing the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy, M-Sport Poland has identified the ERC as the perfect arena to showcase the performance, reliability and accessibility of its four-wheel-drive challenger.

To ensure, competitors get access to the best technical assistance available, M-Sport Poland will attend all events with a fully stocked spares vehicle, while its engineers will be available to provide technical support when required.

All drivers will use the same specification Pirelli tyre and Gulf’s MSR EVO2 fuel, which will be available on site at every Fiesta Rally3 Trophy event at a discounted price of €2.00 a litre.

The eventual ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy winner is handed a fully funded drive package for October’s Central European Rally, round 12 of the 2024 FIA World Rally Championship.

Pirelli is generously offering a 15 per cent discount on event tyre packages to all participants. The winner of each Fiesta Rally3 Trophy event will secure 12 new tyres for use on the next event, the runner-up will receive six new tyres with two new tyres going to the third-place finisher.

Gulf Race Fuels will reward the winner of each round with 300 litres of Gulf MSR EVO2 fuel. The drivers finishing second and third will receive 150 and 50 litres respectively.

Filip KohnMartin Ravenščak (below) and former ERC3 champion Igor Widłak (top) are eligible for the various incentives on offer on V-Híd Rally Hungary, which is based in the city of Veszprém and takes place from 12 - 14 April.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the start of the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy this weekend,” Woda  (pictured below) said. “It’s a new series and starts at the new-to-everyone gravel-based Rally Hungary.

“The three drivers starting the series are well known to me and all of them have got a good experience behind the wheel of Fiesta Rally3.

“I’m pleased to see Igor Widłak coming back. It will be interesting to see whether he didn’t become rusty, after his one-season break, but I’m sure he will benefit from his ERC knowledge.

“Filip Kohn [below] looks very strong on paper, as he has been a very regular contender in WRC last year and it’s a pleasure to follow his progress as a driver. From where he started last year and where he is now, he has done a great job.

“Martin Ravenščak may have less international experience that his competitors, but with his third year in Fiesta Rally3, he will no doubt challenge the others and will be looking to win the 12 Pirelli tyres and 300 litres of Gulf fuel in Hungary.

“I’m sure we are going to have some exciting battles in Hungary and I can’t wait to see the winner on Sunday afternoon.”
