No place like home for Linnamäe in ERC

Georg Linnamäe has emerged as a favourite for home glory in the FIA European Rally Championship after he confirmed plans to contest Delfi Rally Estonia in July.

A frontrunner in the FIA World Rally Championship’s WRC2 division, Linnamäe is set to tackle the high-speed gravel counter from 5 - 7 July in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 with long-term British co-driver James Morgan.

But rather than taking part to simply make up the numbers when the ERC returns to Estonia for the first time since 2016, the 25-year-old intends to be at the sharp end of the top 10.

“We had good pace last year and the car seems to be very good on fast rallies so we have a good chance in ERC this year,” Linnamäe said. “If everything goes right, I don’t see why [we can’t go for the win].”

Delfi Rally Estonia announces Unibet alliance
Delfi Rally Estonia organisers have announced a cooperation contract with Unibet, paving the way for one of the largest online gambling service providers in the world to become a main sponsor of round four of the 2024 ERC season.

Unibet is active in international rallying at the highest level through its partnership with two-time WRC champion Kalle Rovanperä (above). Its contribution to Estonian sports is versatile with Delfi Rally Estonia serving to strengthen the company’s product portfolio. At the same time, the Delfi Rally Estonia organisers have identified an opportunity to stage an even higher level sports event by capitalising on Unibet's international experience in sport.

Ergo Maruste, CEO of Unibet Estonia, said: “We have long been sponsors of Kalle Rovanperä, the youngest rally world champion in history. It is even better that from now on we can also participate in the organisation of the region's hottest rally party, Rally Estonia.”

Janno Siitan, CEO of ERC Delfi Rally Estonia, said: “With the addition of Unibet to our circle of main sponsors, we gain an international dimension. On our part, we offer them a good platform and help with the implementation of ambitious marketing plans both before and during the rally. Together with Unibet, we can add more motorsports to the sports betting and introduce this exciting and adrenaline-filled sport to their customers.”
