The eight-time Romanian champion was second after leg one, having led following stage six, but completed the challenging asphalt counter 4.2sec adrift of a podium finish aboard his Michelin-equipped Škoda Fabia RS Rally2.
“It was a really nice event for us and I’m happy for what we did,” V-Híd Rally Hungary winner Tempestini said. “It was a really hard rally if you just look at the difference between all the drivers, it’s really tight so I am happy we had the opportunity to fight for the first places. For sure fourth is not second or first but at the same time it’s still a very good position between some very good drivers.
“My last rally in a Rally2 on Tarmac was on Barum Rally last year. I know where to improve some little things but we did our best and let’s see for the next event.”
Tempestini continued his strong recent run of form by winning the Romanin championship-counting Raliul Moldovei Bacău alongside co-driver Serigu Itu earlier today (Sunday), despite competing in a Rally3-specification Ford Fiesta against Rally2 machinery.
