New for the 2024 FIA European Rally Championship, the one-make contest from M-Sport Poland rewards the eventual champion with a fully-supported drive in a Pirelli-equipped Ford Fiesta Rally3 on October’s WRC Central European Rally, the penultimate event of the current WRC season, in addition to several other incentives.
Speaking ahead of this week’s Barum Czech Rally Zlín ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy finale, M-Sport Poland head Maciej Woda (pictured below) said: “I’m so excited that we can finish the first ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy at Barum Rally. This is such an amazing event with its very fast, challenging and constant grip-change stages. The Fiesta Rally3 handles those conditions very well, so I’m looking forward to see the competition.”
Woda continued: “It’s a pleasure to see the progression of the ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy drivers this year. Despite the fact only one of them can win the M-Sport Poland-run Fiesta Rally3 drive at WRC Central European Rally, I believe this season proved that the Trophy concept, with all the prizes on offer, works well and I’m looking forward to it continuing next year.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners Pirelli, Gulf Race Fuels and WRC Promoter for making this Trophy possible.”
After four rounds Czech Filip Kohn heads Turkey’s Kerem Kazaz by 20 points in the provisional ERC Fiesta Rally3 Trophy ranking.
Croatian Martin Ravenščak and Pole Igor Widłak have also scored strongly this season although neither can catch Kohn in the title battle with Prague resident Kohn just needing to finish to claim the title and the WRC Central European Rally prize drive.
