Entered as a wildcard in the ERC4 category on his home round of the ERC, the 21-year-old from Wales finished fifth in the front-wheel-drive category in a Peugeot 208 Rally4.
He said: “I’m really happy, I’ve shown some good pace and improved as the weekend went on. There was a lot of room to make mistakes on the stages. I was trying hard but trying not to push myself out of my comfort zone. There’s a lot to be said about the pace [of the ERC drivers] because the pace they’re at is really incredible, but it’s good for bringing us on.”
As well as his ERC4 placing, Lloyd scored maximum Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup points in his pursuit of the title and the main prize, a financial contribution to a Junior ERC bid in 2025.
“We’ve had a great couple of days,” Lloyd said. “It's been an incredible debut in the ERC. The conditions on Sunday were very tricky so I was just trying to get through with no mistakes. We just had a stall on the last junction on the last stage and it wouldn't restart for ages. That meant that fourth in ERC4 slipped away and we finished fifth, which we were still happy with as it was a solid result on our ERC debut.”
With two Stellantis Motorsport Rally Cup events remaining this season, Lloyd is one point behind leader Keelan Grogan.
