Devine banked a podium finish on his top-flight ERC debut on Rally Hungary in 2019 but hadn’t competed in the championship since Barum Czech Rally Zlín in 2021.
That changed when he entered the Welsh Tarmac round from 30 August - 1 September, finishing fifth overall alongside co-driver Noel O’Sullivan.
He said: “It was a nice rally, I enjoyed it and I was happy with my pace and with my driving and where we ended up. It just gives us a taste of maybe some more [ERC] again. We’ll see, maybe next year.”
While Devine’s focus is fixed on winning back-to-back Irish Tarmac championship titles on this weekend’s O’Connell Group Cork 20 International Rally, the ERC stars and their cars are heading to Poland next month for the season-deciding Rally Silesia (12 - 14 October).
